The Warsaw Frogs have entered the meaty part of their schedule. Last weekend, we had the distinct pleasure of traveling to Poland's most picturesque city, Krakow, to face the 2nd team of Juwenia. This past weekend, we played a team from England, Old Brentwoods. The Polish monsoon has provided us with the kind of sloppy conditions that make any Brit feel at home. (click on pic for larger view)
It seems like all of these clubs, from the U.K. in particular have such monikers that deviate from the standard City - Mascot format. This weekend we are hosting Sussex Police (are these guys cops, or what?), Heathfield and Waldron (sounds like an ambulance chasing law firm, or maybe they will represent you if you are the victim of brutality from the Sussex Police), and Barns Green (buy your retirement condo next to the beautiful links of Barns Green!)

It's nice to be the "only game in town" when it comes to hosting teams from the U.K. The attraction of 1 Pound beers and pubs that are open all night is a strong enough lure to stock the Frogs with willing opponents well into the next decade. I just wonder whether I will be able to withstand the next few months . . . maybe I should rethink things and buy a membership at Barns Green.
