If you are a fan of the Daily Show on Comedy Central, make sure you check out tonight's guest, Vanity Fair writer, Bethany McLean. She was also the author of The Smartest Guys in the Room, one of the first sources that raised questions about the financial solvency of Enron. Also, when I was in ninth grade and she was a senior, she was one of those unapproachable goddesses at Hibbing High School in northern Minnesota. Those of us living across the pond have to wait for the online version of John Stewart's show tomorrow. I can't wait to see how she's gotten over the fact that, as a shy, still pubescent freshman, I never quite gathered up the nerve to stand within ten feet of her, let alone tell her what a good swimmer (we were both on the swim team!) she was.
